Passionate statement from Sky Sports anchor Dave Jones perfectly sums up what all football fans were thinking after watching West Ham.

Forget what could be a precious point, West Ham fans were just glad to have their team back in the 2-2 comeback draw with Arsenal.

Supporters have grown tired of the David Moyes’ approach, West Ham’s all too often passive style and a distinct lack of up and at them over the last year.

The Hammers have gone from challenging for the top six to battling relegation.

And at 2-0 down after just 10 minutes against Arsenal, West Ham found themselves at something of a crossroads.

Surrender and get thumped or pull your socks up, fight and go out on their shields by HAVING A GO.

Thankfully West Ham’s players chose the latter. Usually it is left to the “expert” pundits to air their opinions on the action during live coverage of matches.

But the marked contrast in West Ham’s turnaround in performance levels, approach and desire even struck a chord with the TV anchor after West Ham’s pulsating and rousing fightback.

Where has this West Ham been hiding for the last year was the general consensus of opinion across the game after such a huge and decisive clash.

That was reflected in Jones’ comments on Sky Sports as he cut away to cross over to the Forest vs Man United match.

“This is the West Ham United that we’ve got used to watching over the past couple of seasons!” Jones said.

“Finally stirring after a slow start and going toe to toe with their rivals.”

Well said that man.

West Ham fans have been banging the drum about this for months now.

Supporters have been questioning why there has been such a clear change in tactical approach, imploring Moyes to change his ways.

If what we saw against Arsenal was the return of the real West Ham, then the fans have been the catalysts for change by demanding a different approach.

Now let’s hope the Hammers can continue in this vein for the rest of the season.
