West Ham fans look forward to crowning their Hammer of the Year each season.
Another positive campaign could yet be rewarded with qualification for Europe for a fourth consecutive season. And the Hammers face a big Europa League quarter-final soon too.
So there are plenty of contenders this season.
For many Jarrod Bowen seems the obvious candidate to be crowned Hammer of the Year. With 15 Premier League goals and five assists so far it promises to be his best season yet.
Or perhaps even Lucas Paqueta. After all he is the man who very much knits everything together for this West Ham team.

Edson Alvarez is another who has proved vitally important and the Hammers struggle to win games without him.
Left-back Emerson Palmieri and Alphonse Areola have also both been top class for West Ham.
Well here’s what the official statistics say about who should be West Ham’s real Hammer of the Year – and it’s not Bowen.

Highly detailed data shows Kudus is best performing star
So it takes into account all performance data both offensive and defensive.
And according to those stats Mohammed Kudus should be West Ham’s Hammer of the Year.
Star boy Kudus is West Ham’s best performing and highest rated player in both the Premier League and Europa League this season.
He has an average match rating of 7.21/10 in the Prem and 7.56/10 in Europe. The Ghana star also has 13 goals and four assists in 30 starts in all competitions.
Kudus is ahead of Paqueta (7.19/10 in both competitions) and Bowen who is West Ham third’s best player in the league with 7.11/10 and second best in Europe (7.28/10).
Perhaps most significantly, though, Kudus has been officially man of the match – and therefore the best player on the pitch – EIGHT times in his 30 starts. Six times in the league and twice in the Europa League.
Kudus has won eight man of the match awards
Brilliant Bowen by comparison has been MOTM twice – once in the Prem and once in the League Cup.
Kudus is proving to be an elite level footballer and West Ham are lucky to have him.
Some of his standout statistics – which all go into the melting pot for his overall scores – at West Ham are astonishing.
Kudus is only player in the Premier League with over 50 take-ons completed, over 50 tackles made and over 50 fouls won.
One star admitted this week he is awestruck by Kudus and has made a frightening claim about his future.
And these figures show why.
Now let’s sit back and enjoy something he’ll definitely win a West Ham award for – the goal of the season.
