West Ham put in a really pedestrian performance against Burnley this afternoon, especially inside the first-half.
Burnley were rock bottom of the Premier League table before today’s game, whilst West Ham were looking to move within two points of sixth placed Manchester United.
David Moyes is under real pressure in his role as Hammers boss, despite recent wins against Brentford and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
The likes of Thomas Tuchel are allegedly being lined up to replace Moyes, and today’s performance will definitely not have helped the 60-year-old Scot’s cause.
It was a display that has become all too familiar to the West Ham fans this season, and with the players we have now, that really isn’t good enough…

Well, the performance today really was horrendous wasn’t it. To sit back and allow one of the worst teams in the league to impose themselves on the game was just unacceptable.
The official Match of the Day X account posted the below tweet just before half-time during our clash with Burnley today:
Burnley are a team by the way who have faced the seventh most shots in the Premier League this season (FBREF).
Coincidentally, West Ham have allowed the second most shots on our goal this season, but that’s a debate for another time.
At half-time, the Hammers had zero shots on target – a woeful tally against a Burnley side who have shipped 61 goals in the league this season. In fairness to the Hammers, we did have four shots on goal in the second-half, but why aren’t we starting games with more impetus, just like we did during our win over Brentford two weeks ago?
The tweet from Match of the Day during the West Ham vs Burnley clash was a damning indictment of Moyes and his team.
Something has to change, and fast.
