George Earthy is continuing to make a case to be a regular part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-team plans at West Ham.

Games are coming thick and fast in the festive period, and Nuno may need to rely on his academy players to chip in with more minutes than they usually do.

West Ham take on Fulham next, and it could be the perfect game for the Portuguese to try a few new options.

How are you feeling ahead of West Ham v Fulham? How important is this fixture?

Aaron Wan-Bissaka of West Ham United holds off Alex Iwobi of Fulham during the Premier League match between West Ham United FC and Fulham FC at London Stadium on January 14, 2025 in London, England.

George Earthy stars once again for West Ham Under-21s

The Hammers’ Under-21s side took on Aldershot in the National League Cup on Tuesday night.

The London outfit ended up winning the game 5-1 and Earthy was once again the star of the show.

He received a good pass from Callum Marshall and showed his composure in front of goal, calmly slotting the ball into the back of the net.

Earthy’s positioning for the goal was exquisite, which is why he found himself at the right place and the right time.

The 21-year-old has been on the bench just twice in the Premier League this season, but has yet to play a single minute of league football.

Nuno is making a huge mistake by not giving Earthy first-team minutes…

Why do you think this is happening?

When will Earthy be given first-team minutes?

David Moyes has compared Earthy to Manchester City great David Silva, so it’s clear that the 21-year-old is talented.

When he’s playing for the Under-21s, he seems a level above the rest and even against Aldershot, a professional side, the Englishman was a class apart.

The first team is in desperate need of a spark and Earthy could be the one to provide that.

He could be given 15-30 minutes off the bench against tired legs in the coming weeks, which would give Nuno a chance to gauge just how good he is.

If he’s not impressed and thinks that he could benefit from another loan spell, then that decision could be made in the January transfer window.

However, there is a good chance, with games happening so quickly, that Nuno decides to take a punt on Earthy as well.

It would give the West Ham fans something to cheer for after what has been a pretty dire campaign so far.
