New West Ham video emerges which debunks major Jean-Clair Todibo myth

Jean-Clair Todibo started his first West Ham game under Graham Potter in the win at Arsenal and was one the best players on the pitch.

It’s no secret Jean-Clair Todibo did not get on with former West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui.

Todibo was actually said to have been relieved when the Spaniard was sacked.

Equally it was reported the French defender was gutted he missed out on working with new Hammers boss Graham Potter as he spent the first month or so of his tenure sidelined through injury.

Potter’s arrival did not stop incessant speculation Todibo wanted to leave the club in the winter window, though.

Long-term admirers Juventus and Marseille were linked with moves for the 24-year-old.

There was claim and counter claim that Todibo was desperate to get out of West Ham.

In fact it was even reported that he regretted being persuaded to join the Hammers in the first place after Tim Steidten flew to Nice for a one-on-one meeting to lure him to east London in the summer.

The star’s close friend and former Nice teammate Kepheren Thuram even urged Tobido to leave West Ham for Juve.

It was then reported last week that West Ham are looking to turn a quick profit on Todibo by selling him to Man United in the summer.

Lopetegui failed miserably to get anything like the best out of Todibo.

New West Ham video debunks major Todibo myth

The pair had a massive bust-up which resulted in a physical altercation.

Lopetegui has made an astonishing new claim about that Todibo bust-up.

Many Hammers fans felt – and hoped – Todibo and Potter would suit each other down to the ground.

It certainly seems that way after the French centre-back made his first start under Potter at Arsenal.

The former Barca man was classy and imperious as West Ham restricted Arsenal to just two shots.

The Hammers kept a rare clean sheet to end the hosts’ title hopes.

And now new West Ham video has emerged which debunks a major Todibo myth.

They say there’s no smoke without fire. So persistent rumours Todibo wants out of West Ham have been a concern.

The defender recently made a very deliberate post on social media rejoicing in his return to training.

Pointedly he tagged West Ham as his “home”.

After helping the Hammers beat the Gunners, Todibo took to social media, saying: “So good to be back!

“Three points, well done guys.”

If Todibo wants West Ham exit, he has a funny way of showing it

Todibo was spotted sharing a big hug and was all smiles with manager Potter at the final whistle.

Now in behind-the-scenes footage published by the Hammers, Todibo appears to have answered any questions about whether he wants to be at West Ham.

Hammers fans will absolutely love what they are seeing.

Because new Hammers assistant coach Billy Reid is spotted joining in singing Bubbles with the travelling West Ham fans.

That in itself is a great watch.

Then the camera pans to Todibo who is also singing and clapping along to the club’s Bubbles anthem.

He certainly doesn’t look like a player who is desperate to get away from the club.

You can check it out in West Ham’s video above from around the 10-minute mark.

It seems West Ham fans were right to be excited at the prospect of Todibo and Max Kilman playing regularly together under Potter.

The new manager’s system and style of play suits both players down to the ground.

But Potter is in early talks to finish the defensive jigsaw for West Ham ahead of the summer window.

Todibo was subbed off at Arsenal as Potter carefully manages his minutes following six weeks out.

He is expected to start against Leicester, though, after he missed the reverse fixture having been expelled from the squad by Lopetegui following their dust-up.
