Mohammed Kudus has endured a terribly difficult season with West Ham United.

West Ham signed Mohammed Kudus from Ajax in the summer of 2023, and he made an instant impact at the London Stadium.

The Ghana international was sensational for the Hammers during his debut campaign in England.

However, he’s seriously gone off the boil this season.

In spite of that, Hammers head coach Graham Potter has still been hugely complimentary of him, describing West Ham star Mohammed Kudus as an ‘unbelievable talent’ with ‘enormous potential’.

Potter is right as well. On his day, the 24-year-old is truly unplayable.

Does he make a difference for the Hammers when it really matters though?

Mohammed Kudus revelation will make West Ham fans wince

Kudus is a very popular player at the London Stadium.

However, in order to get the fans to love him unconditionally, he needs to start producing more when we really need him.

Kudus has failed to score a match winner for the Hammers during his time with the club.

Big players are supposed to step up when it matters. However, the former Ajax man clearly hasn’t done that enough for us.

Let’s be honest, that’s simply unacceptable from Kudus isn’t it. The Hammers paid £38 million for the Ghanaian winger (Sky Sports), and we need to see more game-changing moments from him.

And when you think about it, it’s actually a really concerning statistic.

West Ham fans have got one thing wrong about Mohammed Kudus

The Hammers fans have been critical of Kudus at times this season, and rightly so.

He has been nowhere near the levels he has set himself.

However, there’s one thing we have all got very wrong about him.

Kudus has faced accusations of being a player who’s not interested in the team. It has also been suggested that he has no defensive responsibility.

His recent comments put all of that talk to bed though.

After the win against Arsenal last month, Kudus highlighted the importance of everyone working together as team:

“The job in defence was really tough. We played a very tough team, and we knew they were going to attack a lot, so we had to make sure the eleven players were focused on the task at hand, and everyone was excellent in doing their own duties.

It’s so good to hear someone with the Ghanaian’s talent talk like that.

In order to make the next step up though, Mohammed Kudus has to start scoring more decisive goals for West Ham.

Zero winners during his 18 months at the club simply isn’t good enough.
