Impressive midfielder Diego Gomez is said to be a transfer target for West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

The super talented central midfielder has showcased his qualities over the past year or so, and West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui has obviously taken notice.

The Hammers chief has a lot of work still to be done this summer, with numerous more new signings required.

Gomez is an interesting option for West Ham – he’s a powerful central midfielder, and he’d bring some much needed dynamism to our engine room.

With Flynn Downes having left to join Southampton, the Hammers are incredibly light in central midfield, and Lopetegui urgently needs to address that.

It seems like Gomez could well be the man for the job, and now the powers that be at the London Stadium know exactly how much is needed to sign him…

The Paraguay international is firmly on the Hammers radar, but he certainly won’t come cheap.

According to The Mirror (print edition July 21st, page 74), West Ham now know how much is needed to sign Inter Miami midfielder Diego Gomez.

Inter Miami are demanding £15 million for the South American star.

He has bagged three goals and three assists in 12 games for Inter Miami so far this season, and is a real talent.

The 21-year-old possesses real pace, power, athleticism and robustness – four qualities that make him ideally suited to the Premier League.

David Beckham co-owns Inter Miami alongside Jorge Mas and Jose Mas. The three have a combined net worth of around £2.6 billion.

They’re obviously not a club in need of money urgently, so the Hammers will not be able to waste time negotiating with them.

The only question will be whether the West Ham board are prepared to part with £15 million to bring somewhat of an unknown quantity to the Premier League.

Personally, I think the answer to that question will be no.
