Michail Antonio set to team up with Newcastle star and serial West Ham antagonist Callum Wilson in announcement from the BBC.
West Ham striker Antonio has been used to being in the spotlight for his brilliant performances over the last couple of years.
But a recent dip in form has seen him make headlines for a lack of goals instead.
A club that knows all about a lack of goals this season is basement boys Newcastle United.
West Ham are mounting another challenge for the European places.
But newly minted Newcastle are still without a win with over a third of the season gone and are well on course for the Championship.
Keeping star striker and former West Ham target Callum Wilson fit will be key to their hopes of survival.
Wilson has a habit of scoring against West Ham with nine goals in 11 games against the Hammers for Bournemouth and Newcastle.
He also has a habit of antagonising West Ham fans with comments he has made over the years.
From making light of his ‘magic touch’ following a deliberate handball goal against the Hammers for Bournemouth.
To saying he relishes playing against West Ham as he finds them easy to score against.
Wilson was reportedly a target for David Moyes before he joined Newcastle.
And now he is finally set to team up with Antonio in a new BBC Sounds podcast it has been announced.
Antonio and Wilson will be joining forces to launch the Footballer’s Football Podcast and the first episode – featuring Hammers fan Russell Brand – is out on Friday.
And Antonio is vowing to ‘tell it like it is’ about the goings on in the Premier League and life as a footballer.
“One for Newcastle and West Ham fans: Michail Antonio And Callum Wilson set to launch the Footballer’s Football Podcast,” writer Jacque Talbot revealed on Twitter.
“First episode out tomorrow via BBC Sounds. Show will include special guests, with Hammers fan Russell Brand in episode one. Callum Wilson says: “We live, breathe and sleep football, so to get our perspective on the game is something a little bit different.”
Michail Antonio says: “This podcast is a first. I love breaking the mould, being the innovator. We’re going to tell it like it is. We’ll cover the big talking points and reveal the reality of life as a Premier League player. My dream guests would be Beyonce and Jay Z.”
We will leave West Ham and Newcastle fans to debate whether they think Antonio and Wilson need any extra distractions right now ahead of a busy winter schedule.
What Moyes and Eddie Howe think will be interesting too.
It certainly promises to be an interesting listen.
