Captain Mark Noble takes to Twitter after what one West Ham United player did during the win against Aston Villa.

West Ham’s 4-1 win at Villa Park was their fifth victory on the bounce in all competitions.

It helped consolidate West Ham’s place in the Premier League top four.

And to make it all the sweeter for West Ham fans, it was a win very much made in West Ham’s famous academy.

The Hammers are the self-styled Academy of Football and fans are rightly proud of their history of producing top players for club and country.

The latest are Declan Rice and Ben Johnson.

And both players were hugely influential in the win over Villa.

The West Ham academy graduates combined as Rice surged through midfield and fed a lovely curling pass out wide to the advancing Johnson.

He then cut inside his man on the edge of the box and fired a lovely left-footed strike into the bottom corner.

Rice then went from provide to goalscorer as he fired home from distance to re-establish West Ham’s lead in what was eventually a comfortable win.

Captain Noble is in his last season before retirement and he is still playing a key role in the West Ham dressing room despite his lack of game time.

And he took to Twitter on Sunday night after watching Johnson cement his emergence with that goal as he and Rice stole the show for the Hammers.

“Our academy just keeps on producing,” Noble said alongside a crossed Hammers emoji.

The post went down well with West Ham fans who – like Noble – are understandably loving life at the moment.

West Ham have equalled their best ever start to a Premier League season – the Hammers had 20 points and a plus nine goal difference under Slaven Bilic in the 2015/16 campaign.

They are in the top four, through to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and flying high at the top of their Europa League group with a perfect three wins from three.

In fact West Ham are just one victory away from winning the group and making the last 16.

Throw into the mix the emergence of the likes of Johnson with other young stars coming through the ranks as well as the incoming new investment from Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky and the club looks in fantastic shape.
