The relationship between David Moyes and Jesse Lingard has been cited as key to West Ham United signing the midfield star.

And it seems the close ties between Moyes and Lingard at West Ham have not escaped the attention of the rest of the squad.

Lingard has been a revelation since joining the Hammers on loan in January.

The player himself said Moyes a key reason behind his decision to join West Ham ahead of a host of other clubs (Evening Standard).

Moyes has often been seen making a beeline for Lingard on the pitch after West Ham victories to celebrate with the star.

Now Mark Noble has revealed on That Peter Crouch Podcast that Lingard is Moyes’s teacher’s pet.

And the West Ham squad have been relentlessly ribbing Lingard over it – with Moyes even joining in the banter.

“Ah Jesse Lingard at the minute mate, Jesus Christ,” Noble told That Peter Crouch Podcast this week when asked who Moyes’s favourite was at West Ham.

“We do boxes (in training), he’s not even allowed in the middle mate you know.

“The gaffer was standing there the other day – and now obviously the lads are on it because it’s a running joke.

“They (Moyes and Lingard) live in the same apartment block now as well – but the gaffer loves it as well, he’ll be around the lads and Jesse will be with all of us and he’ll go ‘Jesse, thanks for bringing me that bottle of wine the other night’.

“And he’ll just swallow his Adam’s apple Jesse, he just wouldn’t have a comeback. He loves Jesse mate.”

Another example of the amazing team spirit driving this West Ham side

It is yet another example of the great team spirit at West Ham.

The Hammers are on course for their best ever Premier League season.

It will also give West Ham fans hope that the special relationship Lingard clearly has with Moyes and the squad will help persuade him to make the move permanent this summer.

First, though, West Ham fans and Moyes will be hoping Lingard can pull out three more quality performances to help the Hammers seal European football for next season.
