Darren Fletcher has the Manchester United job on an interim basis right now.
Now, one man who David Moyes completely schooled just a few years ago has emerged as an unlikely contender for the Manchester United job.
Moyes took on the impossible job at Old Trafford after he followed Sir Alex Ferguson into the Old Trafford hot-seat.
The Scot was destined to fail from the start at Man United and he was quickly moved on, before ending up at West Ham five years later.
Moyes enjoyed a hugely successful period at the London Stadium, guiding the Hammers to their first major trophy since 1980.
Despite receiving criticism from some sections of fans, the job that Moyes did at West Ham was a remarkable one.
The 62-year-old has obviously since left the London Stadium.
However, it’s worth looking back at one of the most career-defining moments of his managerial career, after a new name was linked with the vacant Manchester United manager’s job on Thursday.
Peter Bosz linked with vacant Manchester United job
According to a report from Dutch outlet Soccer News, current PSV Eindhoven manager Peter Bosz is now in the frame for the Manchester United job.
Unsurprisingly, Bosz would apparently jump at the chance to manage Man United.
Back in April 2022, West Ham faced Bosz’s Lyon side in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
And Moyes produced a tactical masterclass that saw the Hammers triumph 4-1 on aggregate.

West Ham’s 3-0 victory at the Groupama Stadium was a real highlight for Hammers fans.
However, as good as West Ham’s performance was, it was hard to ignore Lyon’s weaknesses, and more to the point, Bosz’s ineptness.
The 62-year-old Dutchman was sacked by Lyon just six months later.
Perhaps it’s just a sign of the times that a manager who was tactically outwitted by David Moyes is now an alleged candidate for the Man United job.
I’m not sure that Bosz would be considered by more than five teams in the Premier League right now, if that!
Peter Bosz taking over at Manchester United would cause riots
He has a 51% career win rate during the 723 games he has managed, winning 368, losing 211 and drawing 144.
Can you GUESS the three missing players from the list of West Ham hat-trick scorers? ⚽⚽⚽
Who stunned Arsenal in 2016? And who ended an eight-year wait for a Prem treble?
Surely the Manchester United fans will demand better than Bosz?
In all fairness, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll see the former Lyon boss anywhere near the dug-out at Old Trafford.
However, the mere fact that Peter Bosz is even being mooted for the Manchester United hot-seat shows just how far they’ve fallen since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
You won’t see Bosz mentioned as a potential Manchester City or Arsenal manager when Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta eventually leave, I can guarantee you that!
The fact that Moyes – a manager who was labelled as clueless by many Man United fans – outsmarted Bosz so easily proves just how limited the Dutchman’s managerial ability actually is.
