Brazilian magnifico Lucas Paqueta has teased a West Ham return ahead of Arsenal with a deleted social media post.

West Ham welcome Arsenal to the London Stadium for a huge Premier League clash this weekend.

The resentment between some Hammers and Gunners fans as a result of Declan Rice’s move has added a touch more spice to what has never been a particularly intense rivalry.

West Ham are looking to make it a hat-trick of wins over Arsenal after 3-1 and 2-0 victories in the league cup and Premier League.

But the Hammers have looked a bit lost as an attacking force without their talisman Lucas Paqueta over the last month.

There may be some good news for West Ham and bad news for Arsenal ahead of Sunday’s clash, though.

Paqueta teases West Ham return ahead of Arsenal

After the defeat to Man United on Sunday, David Moyes revealed he could be welcoming Paqueta back ‘in the next week or two’.

And if you follow, follow, follow West Ham’s Brazlian magnifico online it seems that claim has substance.

Because Paqueta has teased a West Ham return ahead of Arsenal with a deleted social media post.

Thankfully eagle-eyed Hammers News managed to get a screenshot of the post before it was mysteriously deleted.

Taking to X, Paqueta posted a picture of himself in full West Ham training gear at Rush Green as he worked out in the Hammers’ gym on Monday.

Alongside timer, football, heart, Hammers and praying hands emojis, he said: “Looking forward to getting back to doing what I love! Not long.”

Brazilian deletes message of hope

West Ham fans know Moyes is a stickler for keeping team and injury news under wraps.

The Scot is very much of the old school in that regard.

We can only assume that might be the thinking behind Paqueta deleting his post. But the way modern football works, there is no chance Mikel Arteta and Arsenal would not know prior to the game whether Paqueta is going to be available for West Ham.

Or perhaps Paqueta did not want to get fans’ hopes up with the post if he is still some way off a return?

Given West Ham’s lack of guile and quality without him over the last month, supporters will be keeping everything crossed his post was indeed teasing an imminent return.

And if he doesn’t make it back for the Gunners then he is at least not too far away beyond that it seems.
