Keiber Lamadrid featured heavily in West Ham United’s pre-Manchester City training session while Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be spotted producing one of his trademark tackles on assistant coach Paco Jemez.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be without Crysencio Summerville on Saturday evening following a calf injury the winger picked up against Brentford in the FA Cup.

Adama Traore is likely to take Summerville’s place, but the Dutchman’s misfortune may be a Venezuelan’s gain.

Keiber Lamadrid will hope to get some minutes under his belt against Man City and Aston Villa, even in the shape of a couple of cameos off the bench. The Deportivo la Guaira loanee was involved alongside Jarrod Bowen, Mateus Fernandes and co in West Ham United’s final training session on Friday.

Keiber Lamadrid praised by West Ham United coach

Lamadrid, who has only played once so far, against Burton Albion in the FA Cup fourth-round, was singled out for praise on a couple of occasions. The odd motivating shout of ‘yes Keiber’ from one member of the coaching staff.

Spirits certainly seem high behind the scenes, and so they should be.

West Ham can leapfrog both Tottenham and Nottingham Forest should they end their 11-year wait for a victory over Man City, and should other results go their way.

Paco Jemez even did a little Louis van Gaal impression when Nuno Espirito Santo’s assistant was the subject of a typically uncompromising Aaron Wan-Bissaka tackle in the middle of a Rush Green rondo. A big hit among the senior stars, Jemez rolled around gripping his leg in faux-agony.

Mohamadou Kante and Pablo Felipe give Nuno a dilemma

Let’s just say that, while Paco Jemez has made a massive difference to West Ham’s defensive record, he will not be doing a Vinnie Jones and swapping football for the film industry.

There is a growing clamour for Mohammed Kante’s involvement against Man City, meanwhile. The French powerhouse is a regular in first-team training, and his hopes of further senior minutes will be boosted by a stand-out showing in that Brentford clash.

Pablo Felipe is also set to be available, having come through his first outing in a month unscathed.
