West Ham majority owner David Sullivan has big calls to make on the future of Lucas Paqueta and David Moyes this summer.
David Sullivan and David Moyes will be thanking their lucky stars that West Ham talisman Lucas Paqueta’s proposed move to Manchester City collapsed last summer.
Because when they’ve been without their Brazilian magnifico, the Hammers have been distinctly average.
Speculation has been rife that Man City will resurrect their move for Paqueta this summer.
That’s assuming the FA investigation into the West Ham star is concluded in his favour.
Widespread reports have claimed Paqueta has an £85m release clause. And that champions Manchester City are just waiting for the green light from the FA before activating it.

Then there’s the manager.
All and sundry have been linked as potential replacements for the manager at West Ham.
The Scot’s contract is up this summer as things stand. And Moyes has insisted it is he who is stalling on signing a new deal.
That has – predictably – given rise to all manner of reports claiming various managers are being lined up to replace him.
One of the names regularly mentioned has been West Ham academy graduate Michael Carrick.
Now two journalists have shared updates on Paqueta and whether Sullivan wants 42-year-old Carrick as the new West Ham boss.

Sullivan has ‘bigger targets’ in mind than Carrick
The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath has once again claimed Man City are ready to renew their bid to sign Paqueta when the summer window opens in June.
And speaking to Boro News, reporter Graeme Bailey claims Carrick is not high up on Sullivan’s list to replace Moyes.
Because – rather intriguingly – he says the club have ‘bigger targets’ in mind.
“He’s (Carrick) happy here (Middlesbrough),” Bailey said.
“I don’t think particularly he’s on anyone’s list at the moment; he’s always linked to West Ham but my understanding is West Ham have got some bigger targets to replace Moyes at the moment.
“I think that’ll get done [new Middlesbrough contract for Carrick] before the start of next season.”
That comes after Bailey exclusively told Hammers News there is only one way Moyes remains West Ham manager beyond the summer.
