Graham Potter lost his cool for the first time as West Ham boss after the disastrous collapse at Brighton and a journalist captured it on camera.

The footage has since gone viral, as Graham Potter clearly starts to feel the pressure at West Ham.

It was a miserable return to Brighton for Potter as West Ham took a 2-1 lead with eight minutes to play – only to lose 3-2 by conceding twice in the dying moments.

It was a spectacular collapse – even by West Ham’s dismal standards over the last season-and-a-half.

Potter hits new career low after West Ham collapse at Brighton

Potter has now admitted it is one of the lowest points of his managerial career.

Angry West Ham fans aimed several chants at Potter over Niclas Fullkrug.

The Hammers boss took the controversial decision to drop striker Niclas Fullkrug for speaking out about the team’s unacceptable performances following the 1-1 draw with Southampton last week.

That’s despite Fullkrug being impressive since returning to fitness and being the club’s only bona fide quality striker option with Evan Ferguson ineligible to play against his parent club.

Potter, who has overseen just three wins in 15 games as West Ham boss, watched his side come back from 1-0 down to be leading 2-1 with a typically Jekyl and Hyde first and second half performance.

Tomas Soucek’s 84th minute goal looked to have won it.

But schoolboy defending allowed Brighton to equalise at the death before adding further misery but getting a winner when Carlos Baleba was allowed to strike from distance virtually unchallenged as captain Jarrod Bowen turned his back on the midfielder’s strike.

What West Ham and Brighton fans then did to Potter is surely a Premier League first.

Now a journalist has filmed raging Potter losing his cool after the West Ham collapse at Brighton.

A visibly emotional Hammers boss was speaking to the media in his post match press conference when things started to unravel.

Lottie Ikonen recorded Potter on her phone, saying he ‘refused to say whether it was nice to be back at the Amex, and also didn’t want to talk about any positives’ as he launched his own rant – in which he threatened to be foul-mouthed in a clear bite back at the Fullkrug chants.

Potter’s Fullkrug dig – ‘If you want me to swear, I can swear’

“I’m a human being as well, I stand there myself,” Potter said.

“I give everything to this, what I’m doing.

“Of course I’m going to be upset, of course I’m going to be frustrated.

“I have to come here and speak calmly to you guys, but that’s not how I’m feeling inside.

“If you want me to swear, I can swear,” Potter added before staring at the press, his face red with anger.

It was then that West Ham’s PR rep, who had gone red in the face himself, stepped in and said: “Ok guys we’ll leave it there, thank you.”

In an interview with West Ham’s own media team a short while after, Potter insisted he does rant and rave at players.

And he said it is hard to feel anything but pain at the moment.

“It’s hard for me to stand here and take comfort from that at the moment because it’s painful,” Potter told West Ham’s website.

“I have my moments (when I rant and rave). It’s not for me to say who hurts more, but I can assure you, there are not many human beings that will be feeling more pain than me at the moment about a football match.

“So, I understand the supporters’ frustration. I understand that, absolutely and yes, it’s tough for us all.”

Let’s hope a few more players than just Fullkrug are hurting too.
