Jarrod Bowen snubbed from England squad in official World Cup sticker book

West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has been a fixture in England squads under Thomas Tuchel, even if he remains something of a fringe player.

Bowen has made eight appearances under Tuchel for England, for a total of 299 minutes. Only two have come from the start.

While the West Ham United skipper keeps stepping up in the Premier League, the likes of Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke have been selected over him for the Three Lions.

Will Jarrod Bowen make England’s World Cup squad? 🏆

Tell us why in the comments…

It remains to be seen if Bowen makes the World Cup squad. There’s no suggestion he won’t, but a lack of minutes under Tuchel would suggest he is perhaps not considered a guarantee at this stage.

For what it’s worth, he’s been overlooked in Panini’s official World Cup sticker collection!

Clearly, not being included in the sticker book does not mean he will not go to the World Cup.

Still, the fact he’s been overlooked perhaps points to a feeling that has long been held here in east London among West Ham fans.

How would a draw with Arsenal make you feel about our survival chances? 🤔

There’s a school of thought suggesting that Bowen’s consistent brilliance is merely taken for granted because he’s not playing for a genuine Premier League powerhouse.

It is certainly difficult to argue. Had Bowen registered eight goals and ten assists for the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United or Liverpool this season, his place in the squad would not even be up for debate.

Bowen should be included in England’s World Cup squad and the fact it is even a potential debate borders on the ridiculous.
