West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen has made an honest admission after last night’s 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates.
Jarrod Bowen played a key role for West Ham during our 2-0 Premier League win over Arsenal, and it was a great night all round for us.
Hammers boss David Moyes ended a truly horrendous run on a personal note last night. Before yesterday’s clash with the Gunners, the Scot had failed to win an away game at Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United or Liverpool in 72 attempts.
It was 73rd time lucky for Moyes though, as West Ham took liberties with Arsenal in their own backyard last night.
Every single Hammers player to a man put in exceptional performances against the Gunners, and they were well worth their 2-0 win.
The boys showed real courage on the ball and stunned the Emirates crowd with a superb performance. The mindset of the manager and the players seems to be changing in these big games, something that Bowen has highlighted…
Bowen says West Ham players’ mindset has to change after 2-0 Arsenal win
The Hammers are flying high in sixth place in the Premier League table now, and everything is looking up heading into the new year.
Bowen highlighted the need for the mindset of the players to change, just like it has done recently, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“It’s a massive win! We knew it was going to be difficult as these are top side, but we managed to build on what we did against Manchester United. Like I say, today was a hard game, but I said after the Man United game that we needed to come here with a mindset to take points and we’ve done that.”
In fairness to the Hammers players and Moyes, we have won away at Tottenham and Arsenal this season, and have beaten Chelsea and Manchester United at home.
So the mindset has been changing for a while. It’s an ongoing process though, and hopefully we continue to evolve into a team that take points regularly from the big boys.
Credit where credit is due, Moyes has done a terrific job this season, whatever way you look at it.
Some may not love watching the football that he deploys, but there has been a noticeable change since we were thumped 5-0 away at Fulham just three weeks ago. I feel like we are playing more on the front foot.
The West Ham players definitely have the belief that they can beat any team in the league now – the 2-0 win over Arsenal last night proves that.
And long may it continue.
