After suggesting he wanted to stay and help West Ham bounce back to the Premier League, captain Jarrod Bowen appears to have changed his tune in a new statement.
Jarrod Bowen recently admitted he did not play to his usual high standards for West Ham last season.
Bowen also conceded he had made mistakes as captain, insisting he is only human but always gives his best for the Hammers.
The reality is nobody has done more for West Ham in the last six years than their Prague hero.
Bowen non-committal on West Ham future in new statement
Bowen added another goal and assist to take his season’s tally to 20 Premier League goal contributions as West Ham beat Leeds 3-0 on the final day.
It proved to be in vain, though, as Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Everton relegated the Hammers.
How does Bowen’s snub impact our chances of keeping him this summer even if relegated? 🤔
After the season finale, Bowen appeared to suggest he wanted to stay at West Ham and get them promoted back to the big time next season.
That has encouraged devastated fans, who feel Bowen would help them win the Championship at a canter with 30 goals a realistic aim for the England winger at that level.

However, there seems to have been a worrying development regarding the skipper.
Because Bowen appears to have changed his tune on his West Ham future in a new statement.
Taking to his Instagram account, Bowen’s language has changed, talking about the club bouncing back rather than his own desire to help them win promotion as he had after the Leeds game.
Bowen says he is feeling ’embarrassment and pain’ after the ‘worst moment of his career’.
Bowen appears to change tune on his West Ham future
He slammed his team and praised West Ham fans while offering an apology.
But he stopped short of committing his future to the club, as he intimated in interviews after the Leeds win.
Who is most to BLAME for West Ham going down? 😠

Instead Bowen referred to the club bouncing back, saying it deserves to be in the Premier League.
“It’s hard to post something like this when all you’re feeling is embarrassment and pain,” Bowen said on Instagram.

“I could write loads trying to explain where it all went wrong this season, but honestly what you deserve from me is an apology.
“Winning that trophy in Prague was the best night of my career. Sunday was the worst.
“We just weren’t good enough. Simple as that. And that’s why the season ended the way it did.
“To the fans, you didn’t let us down once. The support home and away never changed, even when things weren’t good enough from us on the pitch. We should have given you more. You deserved more.
“One thing I know about this club is that it has the desire and fight to bounce back from this. This club belongs in the Premier League and deserves to be back there as soon as possible.”
Reading between the lines, Bowen appears to be deliberately non-committal.
That could be because the club have told the skipper he will need to be sold to raise funds or because he wants out.
Only he and the club will know at this stage but it will all come out in the West Ham wash eventually.
