Jamie Carragher has slammed the ‘criminal and embarrassing’ West Ham performance in the 5-1 cup defeat at Liverpool.
They were just two words used by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher to describe West Ham’s performance against Liverpool at Anfield.
Some of West Ham’s players have been feeling sick of late. Well it was the Hammers fans left sick as dogs watching another drubbing for their team after the 5-0 shocker at Fulham a couple of weeks ago.
David Moyes waved the white flag before the game even started at Liverpool with his team selection.
And it showed in an insipid performance where West Ham did not lay a glove on the hosts.
This was the chance to make it to a semi-final of a cup competition with only a woeful Chelsea, beatable Fulham and championship Middlesbrough standing between them and Wembley.
West Ham fans were not the only ones sickened by what they witnessed.
Because Carragher slammed the ‘criminal and embarrassing’ West Ham performance at Liverpool.
“I mean how embarrassing have West Ham been tonight,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
“Look at that (performance), that is shocking…
“That is absolutely criminal from West Ham, nowhere near good enough.
“You can lose a game but you can’t lose like this – well we’ve all been there in games – but the fact that this happened only a week or so ago at Fulham (is concerning), even though I know they had problems illness-wise.
“He (Moyes) will not be happy and so he shouldn’t be. West Ham are still having a really good season I should say that. Eighth in the Premier League, top of the European group, got to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and this was always going to be a tough game. But this is not a David Moyes team we’ve seen here today. He’ll be really disappointed with this showing.”
