West Ham United signed German striker Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer.
And now Jamie Carragher has lifted the lid on what Gary Neville told him about the 31-year-old hitman moving to the London Stadium.
Niclas Fullkrug cost West Ham around £27 million including add-ons (£22.5 million up front), and he has already spoken about how he believes he’s a great fit for our team.
Julen Lopetegui has been a man on a mission this summer, bringing in eight brilliant new players to the club.
I personally think that Fullkrug will prove to be one of our most important signings in recent history. Sure, it would be better if he was five years younger, but we should still be able to get at least three good seasons out of him.
Now Carragher has lifted the lid on something that his old mate Neville told him about the West Ham hitman recently.
Carragher shares what Neville said about Niclas Fullkrug joining West Ham
The Germany international has proven himself at the very highest level over the past couple of years.
He should guarantee the Hammers double figure goals and assists every season, but is he the man we need to take us back into the European spots?

I personally think he is, but what are Neville’s views on him?
Carragher was in the Sky Sports studios with Neville last night, when the topic of West Ham signings Fullkrug came up (August 16th, 6:39 pm).
The former Liverpool man said, “Gary, you were impressed, you said to me, by Fullkrug going from Dortmund to West Ham. You like what you saw in the summer.”
And Neville responded, “Just intrigued really by the fact how he is going to do.”
I actually think that Fullkrug will be a great fit for the Hammers.
The experienced striker is very good when playing with his back to goal. He’s extremely strong in the challenge both in the air and on the ground, and is a good finisher.
The fact that he’s able to drop into the number 10 role will be enable Lopetegui to play with great tactical flexibility this season as well.
Niclas Fullkrug will be a big hit with West Ham, I have no doubts about that.
Neville is clearly not yet convinced though, and is intrigued to see how things go for the German in East London.
Let’s hope that the former Dortmund man lights it up for the Hammers this season.
