Former West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere has not let biases get in the way when deciding who is more likely to be relegated between them and Tottenham.

Let us know your prediction for West Ham’s trip to Newcastle! 🤞

While the Hammers could move out of the relegation zone by beating Newcastle on Sunday, Premier League survival is still clearly in Tottenham’s hands.

Indeed, West Ham remain favourites to be relegated, and Wilshere knows it.

Wilshere thinks West Ham are getting relegated

The Luton Town manager has made his feelings on Spurs very clear over the years, having spent the majority of his career with bitter rivals Arsenal before joining West Ham in 2018.

Wilshere is no huge admirer of Spurs to say the least but not even that has prevented him from taking a realistic view of West Ham’s likely fate.

Asked who was more likely to be relegated by talkSPORT, Wilshere said: “I’d say West Ham. I’d say Tottenham are favourites to stay up at the moment”

Imagine you’re Nuno – what changes are you making ahead of Newcastle? 💭

Back four? Start Wilson? What would you do? 🤔

Former West Ham player Rio Ferdinand also thinks West Ham are set to be relegated.

There’s little doubt that they are favourites to do so but that is perhaps giving Spurs too much credit.

Roberto De Zerbi has overseen two wins since taking charge of them – against a very poor Wolves side and an Aston Villa team who appeared to have one eye on their European commitments.

The body of work that Nuno Espirito Santo has produced here in east London is much more impressive over a longer period.

West Ham, aside from a few notable poor performances, have broadly been a middling Premier League team since mid-January.

The situation is bleak but certainly not as bad as it could have been. There are genuine reasons to believe West Ham really will relegate Tottenham after all.
