'Interesting news I've heard': ExWHUemployee makes claim about West Ham's Boxing Day fixture vs Brighton

The Hammers we set to welcome the Seagulls to the London Stadium the day after Christmas Day.

ExWHUemployee suggested that West Ham’s game against Brighton will now take place on Sunday December 27th and will be shown on TV, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday, November 25th):

“Interesting news. I have heard, although it’s not officially confirmed, the Boxing Day game against Brighton has been moved to Sunday 27th of December for TV purposes.”

West Ham have not had a home game on Boxing day since we moved to the London Stadium in the summer of 2016.

This was believed to be due to the adjacent Westfield shopping centre and the large crowds of people that it attracted on Boxing Day.

So West Ham fans were surprised to see us playing at home when the Premier League fixtures were released in the summer.

According to Ex, however, that is no longer the case.

West Ham were due to play Southampton on December 28th, so if our Brighton fixture has in fact been moved to the 27th, the clash with the Saints will also have to be rescheduled.

The Christmas period will be vitally important for David Moyes and his team. Let’s just hope that the fixture changes end up working in our favour rather than against us.
