Some West Ham United fans were seriously excited by a new rumour doing the rounds this week.
‘Next big thing’ Little known Moyes target will massively excite West Ham fans
Speaking on his latest The West Ham Way update, Hammers insider ExWHUemployee sparked fresh talk of a potential takeover.
A large section of West Ham fans remain unhappy with co-owners David Sullivan, David Gold and their vice-chairman Karren Brady regardless of the club’s success on the pitch this season.

West Ham fans get excited after ExWHUemployee reignites takeover talk
Many want the trio – now commonly acronymed GSB – to sell up.
But in order to sell, West Ham must find a buyer. And ExWHUemployee claimed he had been told a mystery US consortium is finalising a bid for the Hammers.
The anonymous Twitter personality did throw in a caveat over the accuracy of the information.
That did not stop West Ham fans getting excited by the prospect, though. And the rumour quickly circulated on social media.

Insiders with direct links to owners set the record straight and it’s bad news for fans who want GSB out
Now West Ham insiders Claret & Hugh – who have direct links to the owners – have moved to set the record straight.
And it’s bad news for anyone hoping to see the back of GSB anytime soon.
“Rumours of a reignited US takeover of West Ham continue to lack any real substance, recent reports have resurfaced over the International break but nothing has changed to warrant these reports,” Claret & Hugh state.
“None of these names (being linked) is new and all have had plenty of time to make their move with a formal approach or even go public to get supporters onside.

‘No serious bids and nothing has changed’
“Claret & Hugh understand no serious bids have been received in the last 12 months and nothing has changed in recent weeks.”
So there you have it West Ham fans, it looks to be another false dawn.
In reality any takeover is highly unlikely until at least 2023.
That is when the clause in West Ham’s London Stadium lease – which would require Sullivan and Gold to forfeit a percentage of any takeover bid – expires.
And it is also when the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham – which is being expensively revamped for the 2022 Commonwealth Games – is set to become the new home of UK Athletics.
