West Ham United drew 1-1 with Fulham at Craven Cottage in the Premier League yesterday afternoon.

A last minute goal from Danny Ings ensured that West Ham left Craven Cottage with a point in the end.

In all fairness, West Ham were very lucky to pick up a point away at Fulham yesterday, even the most ardent of Hammers fans will surely agree.

Julen Lopetegui named a truly baffling starting XI, and nigh on every single West Ham fan was proved right at half-time when the gaffer made two changes.

Tomas Soucek was hooked at half-time, and many people are asking why Lopetegui started the Czech midfielder in the first place?

Hopefully the West Ham head coach learns from his mistakes. The West Ham fans were fuming with the performance from the players in the first-half yesterday.

Those inside Craven Cottage were in great voice throughout the game in all fairness, although a video has emerged showing the travelling fans doing something very interesting 37 minutes into the game…

I have to say, the first-half yesterday was a really painful watch.

The football was incredibly slow, lacked any kind of energy and was painfully disjointed.

The team selection from Lopetegui was wrong to begin with, and his tactics weren’t up to scratch either.

The first-half performance just felt terribly flat, and it was eerily similar to many of our displays under David Moyes last season.

And swathes of the travelling support had enough before the half-time interval.

In all fairness to the Hammers fans, it was a dire first-half performance.

I wouldn’t have blamed them for leaving the ground all together! It’s also notoriously difficult to get served inside Craven Cottage!

15 minute waits for drinks are not unheard of, so those inside the concourse were obviously trying to get a head start ahead of the second-half.

That said, the football on display obviously had something to do with it.

Julen Lopetegui needs to address his side’s problems very quickly. He definitely needs time and patience from the fans, but the nature of the game these days means that those two things are rarely given to managers.

A good start for him would be to start with his best XI. He didn’t do that yesterday, and ended up getting punished.

The West Ham fans at Craven Cottage were disgusted, as were those watching on TV worldwide.

I believe yesterday would have been a big learning curve for Lopetegui.
