West Ham offloaded Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta after just one season but they could well be reunited in the Europa League.
We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when.
Well actually when we might when it comes to West Ham and former striker Gianluca Scamacca.
And it could be as soon as next month.
Fans were divided when West Ham gave up on Scamacca after just one season.
Potential Hammers reunion on the cards
He was sold to Atalanta in a deal worth up to £27.5m last summer.
Hammers boss David Moyes has taken a lot of stick over his handling of the 6ft 5in striker, who became the latest in a long line of forwards to struggle – for one reason or another – at West Ham.
The Irons paid an initial £30.5m to sign Scamacca from Sassuolo the summer before last. But he was sold to Atalanta for £3m less just one year later.

Scamacca shining in Europe again
Scamacca’s move to West Ham simply did not work out as he or the Hammers would have hoped.
But nobody can ever take away the fact he scored some absolutely crucial – and quite brilliant – goals in tight games for the Hammers in Europe which helped the club on their way to a first major trophy for 43 years].
Things have not been going much better for the forward back in Italy.
In fact Scamacca opened up on his struggles just last week.
But, like with West Ham, the Italy international has been making a difference in Europe.
And in-form Scamacca has set up a potential reunion with West Ham as the draw looms.
West Ham rampaged into the Europa League quarter-finals with a 5-0 win over Freiburg.

Hammers haunted or well prepared?
Meanwhile Scamacca scored two of Atalanta’s three goals as they edged a tight tie with Portuguese league leaders Sporting.
The former Hammer netted the winner as Atalanta beat Sporting 2-1 last night. And he scored a stunner in the first leg draw in Portugal too.
Now Atalanta are one of seven teams West Ham could face in today’s draw. Everything you need to know about that draw can be read here.
There will be two ways to look at it if West Ham are reunited with Scamacca.
Fans will no doubt worry a fired up Scamacca will come back to haunt them and the manager.
But on the flip side the Hammers know him inside out.
And that could give the Irons a real advantage.
