Arthur Masuaku has sent an emotional farewell to West Ham after his permanent departure to Besiktas was confirmed.

West Ham have officially said goodbye to Arthur Masuaku today as they confirmed the defender has completed a permanent transfer to Turkish side Besiktas, where he has been on loan.

Masuaku was deemed surplus to requirements by Hammers boss David Moyes when he signed Emerson in the summer.

The DR Congo international was initially loaned to Besiktas in August and has featured 27 times in all competitions for the Super Lig side, scoring twice.

Masuaku was a firm favourite with many West Ham fans thanks to some of the outrageous skills he pulled out from time to time and his desire to attack.

Nicknamed King Arthur, he managed to carve out seven years on West Ham’s books despite question marks over his defensive ability at Premier League level.

A hugely popular member of the West Ham squad, Masuaku made 128 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers, including 105 in the Premier League.

He scored twice for West Ham – both absolute belters – in a 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Bolton and a somewhat fortunate winner in a 3-2 Premier League victory over Chelsea in December 2021.

Now Masuaku has sent an emotional farewell to West Ham after his permanent departure to Besiktas was confirmed.

And he says he always felt loved by the Hammers faithful.

“Thanks for all the messages I get from the Hammers community,” Masuaku said alongside crossed Hammers, heart and crown emojis.

“I always felt loved there with you, I wish you guys the very best for the future. Arthur.”

The King is departed, long live the King.

Although it was always on the cards, it is another emotional goodbye for West Ham supporters after seeing huge fan favourites Craig Dawson and Mark Noble leave over the last eight months as well as big characters such as Andriy Yarmolenko.

Another is on the cards this summer as we all know when captain Declan Rice inevitably waves goodbye.
