West Ham United head coach Graham Potter really needs a result against Brentford this afternoon.
Sure, Graham Potter has made huge strides at West Ham since taking over at the London Stadium last month.
However, there’s only so long a manager can last nowadays without his team winning football matches.
Personally, I’m hugely excited about Potter – I think he’s absolutely perfect for us right now.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank raved about Potter before the London derby clash in the Premier League today, highlighting his versatility as something that sets him apart from the rest.
The former Brighton boss has had to really lean on that versatility recently, with so many key men out injured.
However, he has numerous players returning to full fitness now.
And that could mean that one regular starter drops down to the bench very soon indeed.
Graham Potter could drop Mohammed Kudus for West Ham vs Brentford
This game today is a vitally important one for the Hammers.
We could really do with a victory. All of the improvements pertaining to the playing style need to be rubber stamped with a big win now.
Getting three points against Brentford would be key to Potter securing a top half finish at the London Stadium this season.
And he could be set to make a truly gargantuan call for the Bees clash.
According to a report from The Guardian, Hammers winger Mohammed Kudus could be dropped by Potter in the near future.
His place is said to be under threat due to his erratic form and poor output in front of goal.
Dropping Kudus for the game against Brentford would send out a huge message. It would be an incredibly brave call from Potter, but perhaps it’s one that needs to be made.

The 24-year-old has been sensational on the whole for the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium in thre summer of 2023.
Kudus has been linked with a mega move to the likes of Arsenal, but he remained with the Hammers in the end.
His form this season has been patchy at best though, and it would be no surprise if the biggest clubs in world football refuse to meet his £85 million release clause in the summer.
He only has three goals and one assist to his name in 19 games for the Hammers this term.
His decision making inside the final third leaves a lot to be desired. He plays very much with his head down and his final product just hasn’t been there.
I believe that Graham Potter should consider dropping Mohammed Kudus, if the West Ham winger’s poor form continues.
However, the former Ajax man should be given one more big chance to prove himself again when the Hammers play host to Brentford this afternoon.
