Lucas Paqueta will be a key player for West Ham this season, if he manages to rediscover his best form under Graham Potter consistently.

Potter has admitted that he would like to strengthen his ranks at West Ham in the January transfer window.
However, his main priority right now will be getting the best out of the players he has at his disposal at the London Stadium.
Paqueta is certainly someone who the 49-year-old Hammers head coach will be desperate to extract the very best from.

The early signs have been very positive, but there is still that dark cloud hanging over him regarding the charges he faces from potential betting breaches.
The Brazilian could face a lifetime ban, if found guilty of the charges levelled against him.
The situation is obviously far from ideal, and Paqueta has clearly struggled to cope with what has been going on in the background.
Now a new update has emerged regarding his off-field problems.
Graham Potter will be delighted after Lucas Paqueta twist emerged
The 49-year-old has obviously pinpointed Paqueta as a key player in his system.
However, the prospect of building something with the 27-year-old playing an integral role, and then that being taken away from him must be a huge concern.
What I will say is that the fact the investigation and subsequent trial has rumbled on for so long has to be good news for Paqueta.
That’s just my take on the situation.
And now it seems like there is genuine cause for optimism for Paqueta, Potter and West Ham in general.
That’s because a new update has emerged regarding the charges he faces for his alleged involvement in a betting scam.

Paqueta’s hearing regarding the alleged betting breaches has been postponed until the summer, according to Hammers insider Sean Whetstone.
That means that the Brazilian will be available to play for West Ham for the remainder of the season at the very least.
That’s great news for us, as the 27-year-old has looked reinvigorated over the past week.
And now Potter has absolute closure due to the fact that he will be able to play the South American right up until the end of the season at the very least.
Paqueta key to Potter’s system
The 49-year-old’s setup is reliant on versatile players who are comfortable with the ball at their feet.
And on paper, Paqueta is the perfect man for Potter’s system.
The Hammers boss absolutely raved about Paqueta during his press conference on Thursday, describing him as a ‘very important player’ for the team.
The former Lyon man undoubtedly has the ability to really excel in Potter’s system. His technical ability is second to none.
If he is fully focused now up until the end of the season, I predict that he’ll do great things for us.
Graham Potter’s hopes of achieving real success at West Ham will be boosted massively by having a Lucas Paqueta who is firing on all cylinders.
And with that in mind, the latest update regarding his off-field problems is great news for everyone involved with the Hammers.
