Football legend Glenn Hoddle makes major statement on West Ham star Declan Rice and confirms what Hammers fans already knew.

Rice will be back in action leading West Ham against Wolves this weekend as they look to go level on points with Premier League leaders Chelsea with a third of the season gone.

The midfielder sat out England’s latest internationals with a bout of flu.

But it will take more than that to knock the West Ham talisman off his stride.

From the minute West Ham fans laid eyes on Rice in the first team they knew he was special.

But Rice has had to slowly earn the respect of many rival fans and pundits with top performance after top performance for club and country over the last couple of years.

The West Ham star has developed even more this season and has been simply sensational and unplayable in games.

The 22-year-old is topping the stats for West Ham and in the Premier League, winning praise from all quarters.

But he has now been hailed the best player in the Premier League by none other than football great and Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle.

Glenn Hoddle makes major statement on West Ham star Declan Rice and confirms what Hammers fans already knew

The former England boss was a guest on talkSPORT when he made his major statement on Rice.

And West Ham fans are responding today saying: ‘We already knew’.

“I think we’ve got some unbelievable players (in this country),” Hoddle said on talkSPORT.

“Well Rice is coming on and on and on,” Alan Brazil interjects.

“I think Declan Rice is the best player in the Premier League. He’s going to get better and better.”

Well said that man.

And who said all Spurs men were bad?

Hoddle is spot on and the stats are there to back it up.

People will point to the likes of Mohamed Salah and Kevin de Bruyne but in terms of his importance, the position he plays, his athleticism, power, pace, ability, injury record, character and all round game there is nobody better.

It comes after another English football legend, John Terry, said Rice was the best player in his position in world football.

As David Moyes said after the summer window closed, people have missed out on a bargain for Rice at £100m. That wouldn’t get him now.
