West Ham have just two games to overturn a two-point deficit to Tottenham and avoid relegation from the Premier League.

As it stands, the Hammers are strong favourites to be relegated to the Championship at the end of a disastrous campaign.

Gary Neville’s latest comments will now make West Ham supporters feel even more nervous about what next season holds.

The Manchester United legend has outlined a nightmare scenario in which they could also struggle to earn promotion.

Oh wow 👀 How has Tottenham’s draw with Leeds made YOU feel about the relegation battle?!

This weirdly feels like a boost?

Gary Neville raises concern about West Ham transfer window

If West Ham survive relegation, they should be able to keep most of their top players, not least club captain Jarrod Bowen.

However, if they are preparing for life in the Championship, the likes of Bowen, Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes may want to leave.

Neville has now suggested that losing all three stars this summer would leave the Hammers in a precarious position.

He explained: “The quality they have with Bowen, [Taty] Castellanos, Pablo [Felipe], Summerville, [Tomas] Soucek and Fernandes… If they can keep the majority of those together, they’ll come back up again.

“But if someone comes and pinches Bowen, pinches Summerville, pinches Fernandes, before you know it, you’re into a sort of realm of, ‘Oh, what’s going to happen?’

“It’s a really important period, and I never like talking about the teams going down. I never like the idea of teams getting relegated because it’s desperate.”

Unfortunately for West Ham, losing Bowen, Summerville and Fernandes would appear highly likely if they are relegated.

All three will have ambitions of playing for top division clubs, perhaps even Champions League teams, next season.

The Hammers would surely receive over £100 million from their departures, but those funds may be needed to compensate for the loss of income.

The only good news is that West Ham still have a slight chance of keeping all three by staying in the Premier League.
