From 1 to 10 – West Ham fans speak out as Premier League survival hopes take a turn

West Ham United fans have told Hammers News exactly how they are feeling about the Premier League’s relegation battle.

A month ago, West Ham United looked dead and buried in the Premier League table following defeat to Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

There has since, however, been a change. Indeed, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have won three of their five Premier League games to raise genuine hope of survival.

West Ham might have already found 2026’s Carlos Tevez…

How many goals will Summerville end the season with?

Carlos Tevez of West Ham United celebrates scoring during the Barclays Premiership match between West Ham United and Bolton Wanderers at Upton Park on May 5, 2007 in London, England. Crysencio Summerville of West Ham United celebrates scoring his team's first goal during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Sunderland at London Stadium on January 24, 2026 in London, England.

With that in mind, Hammers News asked our subscribers on TalkingPoints, a free and non-toxic platform to discuss everything to do with the club, how confident they felt about survival on a scale between 1 and 10.

The response was positive.

“7 is about right.”

One subscriber replied: “7″.

Another comment was: “8, used to be zero.”

“The way that they have been playing I’d say 9/10,” said another fan.

The key statistics for West Ham United fans to cling onto

None of this is to downplay the challenge that Nuno’s side face, of course. While West Ham are in excellent form right now, they are still three points off safety and have some difficult games to come.

However, there is historical precedent upon which to lean too.

Supporters here in east London have been here before. This, after all, is the sixth season in which the club have had as few as 24 points after 26 games.

In the previous five campaigns, West Ham have stayed up three times.

West Ham have dug themselves out of this kind of hole before. This is not alien territory and there is genuine reason to believe they can stay up from here.

Nothing is achieved yet, but history has proven that West Ham haven’t left it too late.

Premier League survival could yet be on the cards.
