Former West Ham defender Kurt Zouma’s 2025/26 season has gone from bad to worse recently.
Zouma left the Hammers after four years last summer and signed for Romanian club CFR Cluj months later.
He only made four appearances for Cluj before leaving by mutual consent in the January transfer window.
Zouma’s next move to Al-Wasl in the UAE Pro League has also not panned out, as he has yet to make his debut.

Kurt Zouma misses Cristiano Ronaldo clash as wait for club debut continues
Zouma signed for Al-Wasl three months ago, yet he has still not played a single game for his new club.
The 31-year-old has been dealing with knee injuries for several years, and they have also troubled him in the UAE.
However, Zouma did play in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Al-Khaleej during the March international break.
This suggested he would make his debut in either of Al-Wasl’s next two league games, against Sharjah FC or Ajman Club.
Zouma was left out of the matchday squad on both occasions, meaning his next chance to play was in the AFC Champions League.

Al-Wasl hosted Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr on Sunday in the first leg of the quarter-final.
Zouma was finally included in the squad, but he was an unused substitute as Ronaldo’s side won 4-0.
The ex-West Ham captain has now missed all seven games since signing for Al-Wasl, which must be so frustrating.
His next opportunity to play could come against Dibba SCC in a league game on Friday or in the return leg against Al-Nassr.
Either way, it is a shame to see such a talented Premier League player’s career fizzle out due to injuries.
