The Sun have claimed that the 125k-a-week wages being paid to Kurt Zouma has caused unrest in the West Ham dressing room.
We have to say, we think the is utter rubbish.
David Moyes has a brilliant group of players at his disposal at the London Stadium.
The Scot has improved the players that were already with the Hammers whilst bringing in players with the right attitude and mentality.
West Ham are an incredibly tightly-knit group.
The likes of Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal and Jarrod Bowen have been incredible. Said Benrahma is now starting to show what he is all about as well.
Meanwhile, players like Declan Rice, Pablo Fornals and Angelo Ogbonna have all drastically improved.
So all of them will undoubtedly be in line for pay-rises at some point.
Kurt Zouma wages causing division? We think not
The is a clearly divisive piece by The Sun. Little old West Ham are getting in amongst the big boys. And we’re clearly not welcome.
That makes it all the sweeter though!
Firstly, sources close to West Ham suggest that Zouma’s wage is actually sub £100k-a-week and is heavily incentivised.
Secondly, the group of players at the London Stadium are hugely ambitious and players like Zouma being signed would surely have pleased them no end.
The best players in the game love the excitement of brilliant new signings being made just as much as the fans do.
If the likes of Soucek and Coufal continue to produce the goods then they will be rewarded accordingly.
Declan Rice is another matter entirely of course. West Ham are clearly ready to pay him whatever he wants but only time will tell as to whether he ends up signing a new deal.
The Sun’s report on dressing room turmoil at the London Stadium is just plain lazy journalism. This set of players at West Ham are the happiest group we have had in decades. Let’s not let outside sources get us down.
Keep going boys and ignore the haters.
