Fabrizio Romano says West Ham United are now ready to push on to sign ‘lethal’ 25-year-old striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer.

Viktor Gyokeres is firmly on the radar of West Ham in the summer transfer window according to Fabrizio Romano, but the likes of Fulham, Wolves and Sporting are chasing his signature as well.

The East London outfit have been heavily linked with a move to sign the Sweden international for a couple of months now – and most recently just a few days ago.

It’s no surprise that Hammers boss David Moyes wants to sign Gyokeres, with Michail Antonio, Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings all facing uncertain futures at the London Stadium.

And it seems as though the Scot is ready to ramp up his pursuit of the Coventry City forward…

The Swedish hitman is attracting plenty of attention from all round Europe after his superb season with Coventry City.

Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter and provided an update on the 25-year-old’s current situation:

I truly believe that Viktor Gyokeres would be the perfect signing for West Ham this summer.

The Coventry ace is a willing runner, and is superb at stretching the opposition’s backline by making tireless runs into the channels – something that David Moyes obviously absolutely loves – just look at his dependance on Antonio.

The Coventry forward is equally as strong with both feet and is very good at playing with his back to goal, holding up the ball and turning defenders. He has been labelled as a ‘lethal’ striker by TEAMtalk.

The 25-year-old bagged 22 goals and 12 assists in 50 appearances for the Sky Blues this season (Transfermarkt).

He has 43 goals and 17 assists in 116 career games for Coventry under his belt (Transfermarkt).

On top of all of that, he is allegedly available for just £17 million this summer (Record).

If West Ham manage to sign Viktor Gyokeres for that kind of money, it will be a truly sensational deal for the club.
