Door wide open for West Ham to appoint ex-Chelsea manager dubbed a ‘visionary’, not Potter – view

Julen Lopetegui has really struggled since taking over at West Ham United in the summer.

The Spaniard has failed to implement an improved playing style, and the results have been incredibly poor as well.

West Ham have actually regressed under Julen Lopetegui, and that’s saying something, considering how poor we were during the second half of last season.

Graham Potter is said to be literally waiting for the Hammers to make an offer for him, but there are plenty of other options out there for the Hammers board to consider.

I would actually like David Sullivan to bring in someone who will deploy a supremely entertaining playing style.

And one man in particular would be ideal for the Hammers in my opinion.

Maurizio Sarri is perfect for West Ham

Maurizio Sarri is currently out of work, after walking away from the Lazio job.

And now Santi Aouna claims that he has ‘proposed’ himself to West Ham.

Sarri has been described as a ‘visionary’ by BBC Sport, and I believe he would be a sensational appointment for West Ham.

The 65-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium already.

And with Lopetegui on thin ice right now, the timing may well be perfect for the former Chelsea boss to return to the Premier League.

Sarri is well-renowned for getting his teams to play some of the most attractive football that’s ever been witnessed.

His Napoli team were sensational, and he got a real tune out of the Chelsea players as well during his stint in England.

He favours a possession-based system, whereby his defenders are instructed to play out from the back at all times.

The system he deploys is a fluid brand of easy on the eye football.

I think that Maurizio Sarri would be a terrific replacement for Julen Lopetegui at West Ham.

And he might just bring the excitement back to the London Stadium.
