Declan Rice has delivered a damning indictment of David Moyes with a brutally honest assessment of his switch from Arsenal to West Ham.

The dust has started to settle on Declan Rice’s British transfer record move from West Ham to Arsenal.

It’s been just two weeks since Rice left the Hammers for the Gunners in a £105m deal.

And the midfielder is already claiming he has noticed a huge difference between West Ham and Arsenal.

Only one of the London rivals won a trophy last season.

But West Ham’s former captain believes he is now in the right place to win more with Arsenal.

Declan Rice delivers damning indictment of David Moyes with brutally honest assessment of switch from Arsenal to West Ham

Rice has delivered a damning indictment of David Moyes with a brutally honest assessment of his switch from Arsenal to West Ham.

And in a lengthy interview with Sky Sports, he says the Arsenal way under his new boss Mikel Arteta is another world to the West Ham way under Moyes.

“Honestly, from the first moment that I walked through the training ground doors, it was not only the manager, all of the staff, their mindset and mentality is just about winning,” Rice said about moving from West Ham to Arsenal.

“From the physios to the chefs, to the analysts, everyone behind the scenes, it’s all on that focus of being the best you can be pushing yourself every day to become better, a better person and a better player,” Rice said of his first impressions of life at Arsenal.

“And I think Mikel, I think that’s exactly how he is. As well as a football coach, psychologically, he’s amazing and he really makes you wanna play for him, which is a massive reason why I’ve come to Arsenal…

‘The way I played at West Ham is completely different to the way Mikel plays’

“Yes, it’s crazy. It’s honestly crazy (the difference between Arsenal and West Ham). I’m already seeing football in a completely different way. You think you know football growing up and when you play, but when you meet managers like Mikel, you realise you don’t really know anything about football. There are different styles and different ways of playing that I’ve never experienced before.

“Of course, the way I played at West Ham is completely different to the way Mikel plays, so it’s going to take some time to adapt. But I’m really eager to learn to improve, to ask questions, to do one-to-one training to improve and try and get it as quickly as possible.”

What Rice has also quickly found out is that the unconditional support bubble formed around him by West Ham fans during his rise to stardom is a thing of the past.

Because he was hammered for his performance on his first start for the Gunners following his switch from West Ham – by some fans and Arsenal media alike.
