Jhon Duran has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham United from Aston Villa this summer.

West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui is on the hunt for a new striker, and Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran seems to be the man he wants.

The Hammers are believed to be in talks with the Colombia international as we speak.

Duran is an incredibly raw talent, and boy could he end up being a stunning addition for West Ham.

The South American starlet has bagged eight goals in 49 games for Aston Villa, but it is his all-round game that will appeal most to Lopetegui.

The 6ft 1in striker is extremely strong in the air, possesses really impressive pace and is more than capable of leading the line on his own.

He runs the channels with aplomb, and always works hard to create space for his teammates with his unselfish movement.

I would absolutely love Duran to move to the London Stadium this summer, and now it seems like a new update has emerged regarding the protracted transfer saga…

Fresh Jhon Duran update as transfer saga takes brand new twist

It seems for all the world that the Villa hitman will be London Stadium bound this summer.

However, it clearly will not be an easy deal to get done.

That’s apparently because of Aston Villa’s extortionate demands for the highly talented South American youngster.

According to club insider Sean Whetstone, West Ham are digging their heels in regarding the move to sign Duran.

The Hammers allegedly will not be held to ransom, with Villa demanding around £35 million for the 20-year-old striker:

It was actually claimed recently that the Hammers may be able to pick up the Colombia international for a reduced fee, if we include a higher sell-on percentage clause.

That sounds like a fair deal for both clubs to me. As long as the fee isn’t more than £30 million, perhaps we could include a 15-20% sell-on clause to sweeten the deal.

I believe that Jhon Duran would be the ideal signing for West Ham this summer.

The Villa starlet has all of the basic ingredients needed to go on and become a real star of the game in the future.

However, it still remains to be seen whether the Hammers board are willing to cave into Villa’s demands for Duran.
