David Sullivan confidant claims Pablo Sanz will join Lopetegui at West Ham

Pablo Sanz is all set to join experienced manager Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United this summer.

Julen Lopetegui will replace David Moyes as the new West Ham manager on July 1st it has been suggested, and now Pablo Sanz will apparently follow his fellow Spaniard to the London Stadium.

Lopetegui, 57, won Hammers owner David Sullivan over during talks recently, and he is expected to usher in a new era of success in East London.

Moyes has worked wonders during his four-and-a-half year spell at the London Stadium in fairness to him.

So Lopetegui will definitely have his work cut-out if he is to achieve success. The bar will be high, that’s for sure.

The owners expect at least a top eight finish from Lopetegui, but I would suggest the fans may demand even more, considering the fact that we won’t have European football to bog us down next season.

It seems like Lopetegui will call upon Sanz to help him kick off his West Ham spell in style…

The incoming Hammers boss wants to bring a familiar old face with him to the London Stadium.

That’s what Sullivan confidant Sean Whetstone is claiming anyway.

Whetstone has very close links to the West Ham board, so he clearly has extremely good info regarding the Lopetegui appointment.

He tweeted:

Pablo Sanz, 50, has worked alongside Julen Lopetegui at every club the Spaniard has managed throughout his career to date, and now it seems like he’ll be his assistant at West Ham as well.

Sanz is an animated, passionate figure, and will inject some real life into our coaching ranks.

Lopetegui obviously trusts him, so let’s hope he helps the incoming Hammers boss achieve some real success at the London Stadium.
