Hammers boss David Moyes has singled out West Ham star Jarrod Bowen for praise and set him a hugely ambitious target.
West Ham have gone backwards this season and much of that is down to their increasing over-reliance on Jarrod Bowen amid his own struggles to find top form.
Bowen has put his issues in the first half of the season down to the overwhelming pressure he felt to be “perfect” in order to make England’s World Cup squad.
He has been starting to hit top form again in the second half of the season, though.
Bowen has been West Ham’s best and most consistent player in 2023 so far and was our man of the match in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

The relentless wing-man has done everything but score in recent months as West Ham fight for Premier League survival.
The goals have not been flowing as often as he or David Moyes might like.
But that changed against the Gunners as he volleyed home a lovely equaliser to earn the Hammers a vital and deserved point.
Any number of players could have been given special mention after the comeback against the Gunners.
But Moyes has singled out West Ham star Bowen for praise and set him a hugely ambitious target for the rest of the season.

Speaking to West Ham’s official website, Moyes says Bowen has been his best performer of late.
And the Scot has called on Bowen to score six goals before the end of the season.
“Look I think Jarrod in recent weeks has been the one who has been providing the assists for us,” Moyes said.
“He makes the goal last week against Fulham and even midweek he makes the goal. Overall I think he seems to be the one that’s making chances. What we’ve missed a little bit is his goals.
“(Against Arsenal) he gets on the end of one and finishes it which is great and what he wants to do. And hopefully if he can add another half a dozen goals between now and the end of the season that’d be great.”
