Nobody needed West Ham’s 4-2 Premier League win over Brentford at the London Stadium more than David Moyes.
With his West Ham contract up in the summer, speculation has been rife over whether David Moyes will sign a new deal.
Especially after the manager insisted before the Brentford clash that it is he who is stalling on the contract extension and not West Ham owners.
I have reported on the likely reason behind that given the new contract is ‘subject to terms’.
Speculation rife over Moyes’ West Ham future
There has been claim and counter claim about Moyes of late.
The Hammers boss may have thought addressing the situation in his press conference would quieten the noise somewhat.
But after watching his West Ham side beat their Premier League bogey team Brentford 4-2, it was one of the first questions he was asked.

Hammers boss blames media for soap opera
Moyes pointed the finger of blame over his West Ham contract soap opera after the Brentford win.
And the Scot’s finger was aimed squarely at the media.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Moyes insists he and the owners have always been happy to sort his new deal towards the end of the season.
“Me and the chairman and the board we’ve got a great relationship,” Moyes said.
“We’re happy to go (until the end of the season).
Moyes on what is the ‘big thing’ for him at West Ham now
“We’ve been really pushed more by the media in trying to do it.
“We’re all quite happy just to wait until the end of the season, see how things go. The big thing for me is let’s see if I can drive the team on and see if we can keep us up the league.
“Let’s see if we can continue to win in Europe. And let’s see what happens at the end of all that.
“I’ll not be going away (from the game) that’s for sure. I enjoy it here, the club’s been really good to me. And I’ve got to say we’ve really enjoyed the football over the years as well.”
