David Moyes has admitted he’s desperate for a June 7th finish for West Ham United this season.
Moyes and his West Ham players returned to pre-season training on July 1st, and if things go well for us this season, it could end up being an 11-month campaign.

The Hammers are in all sorts of trouble in the Premier League at the moment. We are currently sitting in 16th spot in the table, just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Things have definitely improved in recent weeks, but there are still huge concerns at the London Stadium that relegation down to the Championship is a very real prospect this season.
Despite West Ham’s domestic struggles, we have been absolutely flying in Europe. We won all six of our Europa Conference League group stage games, qualifying for the last 16 as a result.
If we go all the way in the competition, the Hammers’ 2022/23 season will not end until early June. And that’s something that the fans, the players and Moyes obviously all want to happen…
West Ham manager David Moyes wants late finish this season
The Scot spoke to reporters yesterday about the challenges that managers face in the modern era.
As the topic moved on to mental health and the stress placed on managers at the highest level, Moyes highlighted how little time he and his peers have to spend with their families, as quoted by Football.London:

“We get international breaks and it wouldn’t be wrong if a manager went and had a week off, you can understand it because it is the chance to get a break and you may not get many other opportunities. At the end of the season when you hear us say we need to get away, you can imagine it, because when you sign up to the job, we come back on July 1. We then don’t finish until May the 28th. We have had a World Cup but just take that out for now. I hope personally our season doesn’t finish until June 7 because that means we are in the Europa Conference League final. If that was the case we have gone from July 1 to June 7 and you are asking a manager to go through that whole period without missing a day or not being in.”
Let’s hope that we do make it to the Conference League final this season.
Aside from that though, the toll that all of the games take on the players and managers is clear and obvious to see. Having said that, they are compensated very well for their troubles.
The other thing to consider is that this season has been in anomaly in the sense that there was an unprecedented mid-season break due to the World Cup out in Qatar.
David Moyes doesn’t have any time to worry about any of that at the moment though, with his West Ham side in real trouble. Hopefully we can go on a run in the Premier League now, secure safety and then really focus on winning the Europa Conference League.
A June 7th finish would be amazing for everyone involved with the Hammers.
