David Gold tweet on Mark Noble backfires as West Ham fans hijack post

David Gold took to Twitter after Mark Noble signed a new one-year deal yesterday.

Unfortunately for the Hammers co-owner, however, the tweet backfired.

West Ham fans responded to the post in droves, urging Gold to sell up and leave the London Stadium.

David Gold and fellow co-owner David Sullivan took over the Hammers way back in 2010. Karren Brady was made vice-chairman.

At the time, they steadied the ship in East London. The past five years has been a catastrophic tale of lies and broken promises, however.

The move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016 was a major bone of contention for the West Ham fans.

We all accepted the move because we were told that it would enable us to compete financially with the biggest clubs in the world. Next level was the buzz word used by Gold, Sullivan and co.

Obviously none of that has materialised.

David Moyes has worked wonders since taking over at the London Stadium for the second time in December 2019.

Amazingly, we are currently sitting in fifth spot in the Premier League.

That is down to Moyes’s incredible work with the players, however, and nothing to do with the owners.

In fairness, one good thing the Hammers have done is tie Mark Noble down to a new deal. That should give him the chance to see out his West Ham career in front of the fans.

And the West Ham fans once again jumped on a tweet posted by David Gold in relation to Mark Noble signing a new contract with the club…
