West Ham signed Crysencio Summerville from Leeds on Saturday, for a fee believed to be in the region of just £20 million.
I truly believe that the 22-year-old winger will be a transformational signing for us – he has everything that we are currently lacking right now.
Summerville possesses explosive pace and has real end product – something we’ve been crying out for on the left hand flank for quite some time now.
The young attacker bagged an impressive 21 goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances for Leeds United last season, and if he could replicate anything like that at the London Stadium he’d be well worth the money.
He plays with a certain kind of directness that will make our forward line even more dangerous than it already is.
There certainly won’t be any Premier League teams relishing playing us, with Summerville, Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Niclas Fullkrug and Lucas Paqueta lined up against them.

Crysencio Summerville shares what he’s noticed about West Ham fans
The Dutchman is now at a stage of his career where he’s ready to make the jump up to the next level, and a move to the Hammers will give him the chance to do exactly that.
For £20 million odd, I believe he will go on to become one of the very best deals of the entire summer window.
Summerville is not just an exceptionally gifted footballer, but he became well-renowned at Leeds for his hard work and application as well.
On paper, he seems like the absolute perfect summer signing for the Hammers, and now he has said something that will put a big smile on the West Ham fans’ faces.
When speaking to WHUFC.com, Summerville shared something he’s noticed about the Hammers fans.
The 22-year-old winger said, “I’ve played at London Stadium twice before, and it’s really nice. The fans always stick by their team, and there’s so much history at the Club as well.“
Whilst that theory has been tested at times over the past five or six years, the West Ham fans have become notorious throughout history for our fierce loyalty, as long as the players put in 100% effort of course.
Crysencio Summerville has made it very clear that he has always been impressed by the West Ham United fans.
And with those comments, he has already got off on the right foot with the London Stadium faithful.
Now he just needs to earn our adoration on the pitch with fully committed performances, and that’s something I fully expect him to do.
