Coach lifts the lid on something astonishing West Ham star Mark Noble does after every game and it will make Hammers fans love him even more.

West Ham fans don’t need more reasons to adore their long-serving skipper Noble.

But just when West Ham supporters thought they had heard it all about the midfielder ahead of his retirement at the end of the season, along comes recently departed Hammers coach Dmitri Halajko with the best story you will read all week.

As well as being a great servant and an excellent, consistent player – especially in his pomp – Noble has been crucial behind the scenes at West Ham.

His leadership through some tough times has done the club proud. And David Moyes has often talked about the fact Noble is still a huge voice in the West Ham dressing room, even when he is not involved.

Now Halajko, who left West Ham last week for a job with the Premier League, has lifted the lid on something astonishing Noble does after every game when speaking to The Athletic.

According to the ex Under 23s boss, Noble sweeps the changing rooms and cleans the bus after every first team game.

“Mark sweeps the changing room and tidies the bus after a first-team game,” Halajko told The Athletic.

“They (Noble and Declan Rice) set the standards and an academy player will see that and think, ‘If a first-team player does that, then why can’t I?’.

“They look after the players and want them to do well.”

What a man Noble is.

West Ham have not yet revealed the plans that are in place for Noble once he hangs up his boots at the end of the season.

There have been suggestions Noble will take on a coaching role within the club’s famous academy.

But the midfielder has said in the past he is not sure if he wants a career in coaching and management and has eyes on a potential boardroom role instead.

Whatever happens West Ham must ensure Noble remains part of the club in some way.

His influence is key, particularly when showing the way for young players or new signings.
