West Ham United are unlikely to pick up any points in the Premier League’s relegation battle when they play Fulham on Wednesday, according to pundit Chris Sutton.
Wednesday’s trip to Fulham is a huge one in the context of the relegation battle.
This lineup is getting three points at the Cottage 🔥
Thoughts? Opinions?
If West Ham United can win it, they will go just a point behind bitter rivals Tottenham in the Premier League table – no matter what happens with Nottingham Forest at Manchester City.
Still, Sutton just does not think Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will be taking much from their short trip across the English capital to Craven Cottage.
Chris Sutton thinks Fulham will beat West Ham
Indeed, writing in his BBC Sport column, Sutton predicted a 2-1 win for Fulham and said: “West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was very upbeat about his side’s performance at Anfield on Saturday, but they lost 5-2.
“The only consolation for the Hammers is that the teams immediately above them all lost too.
“They lost at home to Fulham in December and I don’t see them getting anything on Wednesday, either.

“Marco Silva’s side played really well in their win against Tottenham on Sunday and Harry Wilson is on fire – my advice is to get him in your Fantasy Premier League team, now.”
There’s little doubt that losing to the Cottagers would be a major blow.
Though to take nothing away from Marco Silva’s side, it’s a game a team looking to stay in the Premier League has to be winning.
Sutton does not seem convinced about West Ham’s chances of staying in the Premier League despite their recent turnaround in form.

Harry Wilson could miss Fulham vs West Ham United due to injury
It’s interesting, however, that Sutton paid special mention to Harry Wilson when delivering his prediction.
The Welshman has been one of the form players in the Premier League this season, scoring nine goals while registering six assists in 27 matches.
However, in a blow for Fulham, Wilson is a doubt for Fulham’s game against West Ham after suffering an ankle injury during their win over Tottenham on Sunday.
Silva will provide further updates at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, but the Welshman was forced off in the second half against Spurs after scoring and assisting.
Wilson or no Wilson, West Ham have to see this as a huge opportunity in the relegation battle. Losing this, despite Fulham’s quality, would be a major setback.
