Chelsea are ‘considering’ making the LLDC an offer over a four-year groundshare at West Ham’s London Stadium claims a new report.
Would West Ham have a say if one of their fiercest rivals such as Chelsea wanted to groundshare at the stadium they rent?
Well we might be about to find out in the near future it seems as the Blues are said to be weighing up asking the the London Legacy Development Committee – who run the ground – whether they can share the London Stadium with the Hammers.
West Ham have been anchor tenants at the former Olympic Stadium since 2016.
And – as evidenced by a ridiculous wall recently constructed between home and away fans by LLDC at the stadium – West Ham often have little say on key elements at their home ground.

LLDC already makes huge losses at the London Stadium and frosty relations between them and the West Ham hierarchy were reported by The Daily Mail over the weekend.
Chelsea have plans to build a new 60,000 capacity stadium at Stamford Bridge would likely cost up to £2billion and take four years to complete.
And according to The Daily Mail that’s where West Ham’s ground could come in handy.
Chelsea are ‘considering’ making LLDC an offer over a four-year groundshare at West Ham’s London Stadium claims a new report.
According to the report the London Stadium is one of four or five options being looked at by Chelsea for a groundshare while their new stadium is built.

“West Ham’s ground is another potential option being considered by Chelsea,” the report states.
“A recently-built stadium with a large capacity, London Stadium has also been used for other sports such as rugby and baseball.
“Remaining in London would be a major positive for Chelsea and this would enable them to continue playing home games at a Premier League ground.
“However, the prospect of a ground share may not be especially appealing for West Ham and Chelsea supporters given the rivalry between the two clubs.”
It is not clear how much of a say West Ham would have in the process should Chelsea approach the LLDC with an offer.

But given the dire financial situation of the LLDC – and the fact CEO Lyn Garner constantly bemoans the deal that was struck with West Ham – they may welcome any chance to make additional income.
Any ground share would impact West Ham’s fixture scheduling so one would assume the club’s board would have at least some say on the matter.
And that is not even taking into account the tribal issues between supporters.
Other options for Chelsea are said to be Craven Cottage, Reading, Twickenham and Wembley.
