Callum Wilson’s time at West Ham United could be extended, such has been the level of his impact.
Indeed, Wilson has been a good signing for West Ham, despite eyebrows being raised at his arrival back in August.
The 34-year-old has scored five goals in ten starts this season and while he was close to leaving in January, it seems as if a major U-turn has been made.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Wilson has agreed a one-year contract extension here in east London and is set to stay at the club until at least the summer of 2027.

It would be foolish to suggest that the former Newcastle United striker is not without his physical limitations at this stage in his career.
During his final season on Tyneside, the striker didn’t score a Premier League goal for Newcastle, and many West Ham fans were unhappy with the club for signing Wilson.
They can hardly be blamed, either. When the other striker in the squad is Niclas Fullkrug, it does not make much sense to move for a player of Wilson’s ageing profile.

However, once complemented with the energy and industry of Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos, Wilson is starting to look like an important member of the squad.
He’s proven he can still cut it at Premier League level in terms of scoring goals, while one would surely back him to prove even more prolific if he were to play for West Ham in the Championship next season.
Wilson’s career has been a response to a series of setbacks and the way in which he consistently proves people wrong is mightily impressive.
That is the kind of fighting spirit that goes down well among West Ham fans.
Wilson has been a better signing than hoped, and there seemed little reason to part ways this summer.
