Graham Potter will not be West Ham manager come Monday morning according to Paul Merson in the most brutal verdict yet.

All eyes will be on the London Stadium when West Ham take on Crystal Palace this weekend.

Oliver Glasner’s side arrived in east London looking to increase their record-breaking unbeaten run to a staggering 17 games.

That shows just what West Ham and Graham Potter are up against.

Potter is under huge pressure to save his job after just six wins in his 24 games in charge since replacing Julen Lopetegui in January.

Owners and Potter have their heads on the Hammers block

Hammers fans have bigger fish to fry at the moment as they turn their attentions once again to ousting their owners.

The fanbase blame the owners above anyone for the rapid regression at West Ham since the turn of the year in 2024.

The Hammers were riding high in the Premier League top six, one win off the top four, after a 2-0 win at Arsenal on December 28th 2023.

West Ham have been in freefall ever since, though.

The contract saga between David Sullivan and David Moyes saw the Hammers fall off a cliff.

The Hammers have lost four of their five games this season, shipping 14 goals in the process.

Potter’s side are out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle and sit in the bottom three of the fledgling Premier League table.

An increasing number of fans, journalists and pundits believe that’s where they will end up at the end of the season too.

With £100m losses looming in the club’s next accounts, dropping into the Championship would leave the Hammers staring into the abyss.

It would also potentially damage the fanbase’s hopes for a takeover.

Merson says Potter will be sacked by West Ham this weekend

Potter had asked not to be judged until he had a full pre-season with the team and some of his own players in the door.

But West Ham’s performances and results have got worse, not better, so far this season.

Potter appeared to turn the blame on West Ham’s owners after the 3-0 rout to bitter rivals Spurs.

There have since been claims Potter could be sacked if West Ham lose to Crystal Palace.

A host of other managers are being linked as potential replacements including Nuno Espirito Santo, Kieran McKenna and Slaven Bilic.

It has been revealed unpopular West Ham vice-chair Karren Brady has met with a potential Potter replacement.

Now one leading pundit has delivered a bold and damning claim about what the future holds for the Hammers’ beleaguered boss.

Brutal Paul Merson says Potter will be sacked by West Ham this weekend.

Merson believes Potter will be sacked if the Irons lose to the Eagles.

And that’s exactly what he thinks will happen, predicting the ex Chelsea boss will not be West Ham’s manager come Monday morning.

Merson says the Palace clash is ‘huge’ and ‘dangerous’ for West Ham and Potter.

The ex Arsenal hero feels Potter’s record means he doesn’t have a leg to stand on, pointing out West Ham have just two wins at home since Potter took over.

End of the road for Potter at West Ham says Merson

Merson believes West Ham will be comprehensively beaten 2-0 by Palace and it will be curtains for Potter.

“If West Ham lose this game, I think Graham Potter will be sacked,” Merson said while predicting a Hammers defeat on SportsKeeda.

“He’ll be a very lucky man if that does not happen.

“West Ham have just one win at home in the Premier League since January. Can you believe that? It’s a terrible run of form. We saw how good Palace were away from home against Aston Villa a few weeks ago.

“This is a game where West Ham have to come out and play their football and that could be an advantage for Palace. When teams decide to have a go at Palace, they thrive on it.

“If West Ham concede first, it’s game over and end of the road for Potter in my opinion.”

Potter’s contract runs until the end of next season.

There have been rumours it contains a break clause at the end of this season but it is looking increasingly unlikely Potter will make it that far.
