A board confidant says key West Ham first team star Vladimir Coufal won’t get a new deal as his contract situation is clarified.
A number of West Ham players are entering the final year or two of their contracts.
And that means the Hammers will soon have to make decisions on whether to offer new deals, sell or watch contracts run down.
We reported on claims that Tomas Soucek and Michail Antonio have signed extensions behind closed doors at West Ham.
The club also remain in discussions with Jarrod Bowen over a new deal amid reported interest from the likes of Liverpool.

Board confidant says key West Ham first team star Vladimir Coufal won’t get a new deal as contract situation is clarified
Another player who has been the subject of much speculation over his future is right-back Vladimir Coufal.
The Czech has looked back to his best in the last six or seven months and has registered three assists in as many Premier League games of late.
It was claimed last month Coufal was one of three players the club was looking to get signed up to a new deal.
According to The Evening Standard, Coufal has said he ‘probably would’ sign an extension if offered one by the Hammers, and that he’s ‘quite confident’ it will happen.
Now a board confidant says key West Ham first team star Coufal won’t get a new deal as his contract situation is clarified.
According to Sean Whetstone, West Ham do not intend on offering Coufal a fresh deal with improved terms.

No new deal for Coufal but plans to activate option and then assess
Instead they will take up a one-year option already written into his current contract on the same terms and will then decide at the end of that whether to offer any further extension.
“West Ham have NO plans to offer Vladimir Coufal a new contract,” Whetstone said.
“They do plan to activate a one-year option in due course before next summer when his current contract comes to an end.
“He will be 33 at the start of the 2025/2026 season and the Hammers will assess his form again then.”
At £5m, Coufal has turned out to be one of the biggest transfer bargains in West Ham’s modern history.
And his return to form is buying West Ham boss David Moyes and technical director Tim Steidten time to identify a young, pacy, modern full-back who can eventually succeed the 31-year-old.
