Hammers boss David Moyes is desperate to bolster his central defensive ranks at the London Stadium.

And it seems as though Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo is in the same boat.

ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham are in talks to sign the Fiorentina ace whilst Fiorentina News reckon they have lodged a £14 million bid for the defender.

Tottenham have actually made a bid for the 23-year-old Serbia centre-back as well according to Calciomercato.

Meanwhile, La Nazione are claiming that Fiorentina want at least €20 million (£17 million) for Milenkovic.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs or the Hammers will match that price. But David Sullivan really should be doing everything he can to ensure that the East London outfit win the race to sign the towering defender.

West Ham losing out to Tottenham in Milenkovic race would be bitter pill to swallow

The 23-year-old is big and strong, tenacious in the tackle and dominant in the air. He is very similar in playing style to Nemanja Vidic.

In 34 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last season, the Serbian scored three goals and registered one assist. In those outings, he averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 3.6 clearances and one block per match. The 23-year-old won an average of 3 aerial duals per game. He also had an 86% pass completion rate from an average of 46.6 passes per match (Who Scored).

He could have a transformational impact at the London Stadium.

If Tottenham win the race to sign Milenkovic, however, there must be questions asked regarding the transfer process at West Ham.
